What is a bed bug?
A bed bug (Cimex Lectularius) is a parasitic insect that usually feeds on humans but also feeds on any warm blooded animal.

Who is affected by bed bugs?
Bed bug infestations can  affect homes and businesses or anyone who travels frequently. Bed bugs  will primarily affect hostels, hotels, B&B’s, public transport,  colleges/universities where there is high human traffic for bed bugs to  be transported and left behind.

What are the symptoms of bed bugs?
Bed bugs only come out  at night to feed on their host where flesh is exposed - typically the  face, neck and arms. Bed bugs inject saliva into the flesh as they feed  often producing an allergic reaction causing swelling, itching and  burning. Bed bugs can also leave faecal stains and tiny egg cases near  the bed. If you are experiencing the symptoms described above then  please contact us immediately. We offer advice, free surveys and bed bug  monitors to uncover any infestations and help you in getting rid of bed bugs.

How to get rid of bed bugs
Thoroughness is required when  treating bed bugs and the treatment used will depend on the severity of  the infestation. All of our technicians are fully trained, will  carry out free risk assessment surveys and recommend suitable treatment  to remove any infestation in accordance with BPCA guidelines.
