Sewer Rats in Somerset
One resident in Wells got the shock of her life when she lifted up her toilet seat to see a live rat in the bowl!
A quick call to our Wells area manager, Rob Voisey and he was soon at her house to deal with the unwelcome visitor. Rob thoroughly checked for signs of rats inside the house, but found nothing. He carried out further inspections in the garden and still no nests could be found.
That only left one place – the sewer! He lifted the lid and could see immediately where the rats were coming from.
The situation and conditions made placing bait a bit of a challenge; how could he keep the bait in place without it being flushed away?
Rob decided that the only option was to suspend bait blocks from wires around the manhole cover. This proved very effective and the problem was quickly resolved. The lady was once again able to use the guest bathroom without any surprise visitors.
