CAT.UK Amongst the Pigeons

NBC Bird and Pest Solutions Area Manager, Tim Lester was approached by CAT.UK, Caterpillar and Renault dealers at Southampton dock when a population of seagulls started to cause problems and making a mess at the site.
After surveying the problem, NBC decided that a falconry response programme would be the best solution to scare the pigeons from the site. The program consisted of a week of intensive falconry followed by regular maintenance visits to prevent the birds from returning to the site. In addition, three kites were installed to provide a continuous presence to deter the seagulls between visits from NBC and the live hawks.
