News - Tony Swoops to Put Pigeons in Their Place in London

Drastic measures were needed when an estate agent decided to fight back against a flock of pigeons menacing any customers brave enough to stop and look in the window.
After one too many had fallen foul of the bird's droppings Godalming-based Hamptons International called in the help of NBC's Area Manager Andy Dobbs and Tony the harris hawk to get rid of the pigeon problem.
In the hope of keeping the front of its Baverstock House offices, and its customers, clean of pigeon poop, the hawk was used to scare off the other birds while NBC Bird and Pest Solutions, a national bird and pest control company, also placed spikes along the top of the building to stop them re-roosting. Tony, who is often used by the premises department of Hamptons International, certainly attracted a great deal of interest when he flew into action to entice the pigeons away from the building.
Nigel Gammon the Business's Associate Director, said: "We are lucky to have such an attractive building in the High Street and it was unfortunate the pigeons had become such a nuisance, but watching Tony working was certainly great entertainment. He was a true fighter against the bombers."
