Avishock installed at Southampton

Britain’s biggest cruise ship company, Carnival UK, officially opened their headquarters overlooking Southampton Water this summer.
The impressive glass fronted building brings together staff almost 1000 with the amalgamation of five separate offices, previously occupied across the city. The building, complete atria and sculpted public art façade provides a state-of-the-art working environment including roof top terrace and winter garden.
Unfortunately staff where not the only ones to enjoy using the roof terrace. Seagulls started to perch on the ledges and where beginning to leave unsightly droppings on the new building.
Carnival UK decided to take action quickly to prevent the seagulls becoming a serious problem for they staff. Following a referral, they called NBC Bird and Pest Solutions, Area Manager Tim Lester to help solve the problem.

Specialist guano removal was required to remove the droppings before NBC could install Avishock, a discreet and effective bird proofing method. The slim outline of Avishock enabled it to be fitted to the building without impacting on the sleek outline of the roof and providing a more aesthetic appearance then other methods, allowing the roof terrace to maintain its originally appearance.
